Thank you for
visiting our website. Chef Henry's has been around for only
a year, but we have proudly served our clients in
other locations since 1991. The latest restaurant was in
Winter Park, Florida on Howell Branch Road. Chef Henry and
Pastry Chef Estika gained a great number of loyal customers
and so after a year's break we decided to open another
restaurant this time, however, a little differently. I
decided to take on the responsibility of ownership. It has
always been my dream to open my own restaurant. I started in
this business very early on, making my first espresso when I
was seven and I was hooked. From then on my sisters and I
helped my parents in the Resort they ran in Slovakia. We
prepared wedding banquets together, setting all the tables
just right, we polished silver, set plate settings prepared
center pieces and then impatiently waited for all the guests
to arrive while we snuck a peak every few minutes or so into
the Pastry pantry. There all the beautiful and delicious
pastries and cakes were waiting. This followed me through
the years, and when Chef Henry opened his first cafe
Downtown Orlando. We helped man the cash register, prepare
salads, help on the grill and make deliveries. Then Chef
Henry opened a restaurant in Titusville called the Blue
Danube and once again we all jumped in together and each of
us assumed varied positions within the restaurant. I
apprenticed with Chef Henry for two years in the kitchen,
learning everything in the back of the house. I taught
myself how to bartend and loved everything about helping
to run a restaurant. Few years later we opened Chef Henry's
in Winter Park. A quaiet little place in an unsuspecting
location that won many awards. In 2005 my husband, our kids
and I moved to Slovakia. I learned many new things there,
working in completely different professions yet, each one of
them was being a part of running a business. Oh how I missed
the restaurant and our loyal customers, the busy nights
where all of us had to multi task to make things happen. It
didn't take but four years for me to realize I needed to get
back and open my own place, like I always dreamed. Upon my
arrival I had pitched my idea to the rest of the family
reassuring them that I would take all the responsibility and
Chef Henry and Estika would merely show up and play. They
missed the action too, and so did Evelina and now, here we
are in Longwood in a beautiful restaurant with all the
people in place waiting for you to come so we can showcase
our heritage and the heritage of Central Europe. Come in for
a wonderful experience with your loved ones or anyone you
want to share it with. Chef Henry will cook you a great
meal, Estika will bake you a strudel like your grandmother
did and Evelina and I will do everything to make you feel
like you are in our home for dinner.
We hope to see
you soon.
It is great to be
back!
Respectfully,
Simone, your
host.
